WEEK ONE IS HERE!
This first week of Authentic Love was such a good introduction into how to be the best possible you.
In today’s society we can often find ourselves comparing, masking ourselves, and holding ourselves to a certain bar that we can never truly achieve. The book goes all over how we use “filters” literally and non-literally to portray ourselves, and who we are.
Often times we find our identity in things and not in God..
1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy because I am holy.”
The author makes it clear that the YOU in the passage is super personal. God calls YOU to be holy. Not just someone, but you.
The word holy in this passage means “dedicated to God and set apart to the service of God.” We shouldn’t have to use filters to showcase who we are, or to stand out. Being a Christian and following God already sets us apart! We are set apart by HIM. So there is no need to use filters or try to be someone you’re not.

Once we start doing this, then we can find our full identity in Christ. Which is what next week is all about so…. stay tuned:)
